OBJECTIVES -- This program is designated for practicing surgeons involved in the care of patients. It is meant to provide an update regarding treatment in general and subspecialty surgical practice, and to enhance the knowledge of participants in these areas. The program is intended to meet the needs of surgeons in clinical practice for up to date information on the latest techniques in general and specialty surgical areas and to provide a means for surgical students and researchers to report the results of their research.

ACCREDITATION -- The American College of Surgeons is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to sponsor continuing medical education for physicians. The American College of Surgeons designates this educational activity for a maximum of 18 Hours in Category 1 credit toward the AMA Physician's Recognition Award. Each physician should claim only those hours for credit that he/she actually spent in the activity.

REGISTRATION FORM AND PAYMENT IN FULL MUST BE RECEIVED BY DECEMBER 28, 2008, IN ORDER TO QUALIFY FOR THE EARLYBIRD REGISTRATION FEES. REGISTRATION FORMS RECEIVED AFTER THAT DATE WILL BE CHARGED THE HIGHER LATE FEE. ALL PARTICIPANTS, AUTHORS AND PRESENTERS ATTENDING THE MEETING MUST REGISTER. PROGRAMS AND NAME BADGES WILL BE DISTRIBUTED ON SITE.

HOTEL RESERVATIONS -- HOTEL RESERVATIONS -- The SCCACS has arranged for a block of rooms at the Four Seasons Biltmore Resort in Santa Barbara at special discounted room rates. The rate is $338 per night, plus taxes for single/double. Rooms at this rate are available until the block of rooms is sold out or December 15, 2008, whichever occurs first. After that date, rooms and rates are subject to availability. Cancellations are subject to forfeiture of one-night deposit if cancelled less than 72 hours in advance. To reach the Biltmore by car: From the south (starting in Los Angeles), take the 405 Freeway north, then transit to the 101 Freeway north. Driving time is approximately 2 hours. Exit at Olive Mill Road and turn left. Follow the road one-half mile. The Biltmore will be on your right, across from the ocean.
