The 2026 outstanding agenda includes 35 paper presentations and 12 mini-podium presentations that focus on topics of interest to most surgeons, as well as papers that hone in on areas of surgical specialty, including minimally invasive surgery, bariatric surgery, vascular surgery, trauma surgery, pediatric surgery, colorectal surgery, and surgical oncology. The specialty sessions are tailored to be a deeper dive into specific areas of surgical specialty.
Attendees are then invited to take a deeper dive into their specialties during in-depth specialty Sessions that include a combination of papers and presentations on focused topics in each surgical specialty. This year, Specialty Session meetings will include Pediatric Surgery, Cardiothoracic and Vascular Surgery, MIS/General Surgery, Trauma Surgery, Surgical Oncology, Hepatobiliary (HPB), Colorectal Surgery, and Bariatric/Metabolic Surgery.
A number of popular annual events are back for this meeting. Highlights include the “Hot Topics in Surgery” session, which will be held Friday afternoon, followed by the Welcome Cocktail Reception. Saturday’s agenda includes the “Young Surgeons Breakfast,” and the ever-lively “The Great Debates of SoCal ACS” and “Resident Surgical Jeopardy” competitions. At the end of the day Saturday, please join your fellow SoCal Surgeons for a relaxing Wine and Cheese Reception.

James Dowden invited lecture on Saturday, January 10 followed by a special Presidential Panel on “Healing on a Budget: Margins, Missions, and the Cost of Care.” The SCCACS is proud to offer these special meeting components to support the success of soon-to-be, and new, surgeons and strengthen the future of all surgical specialties.
